Daniel Hargraves
Daniel Hargraves (dhargraves@hm-law.com) received
his Bachelor of Laws from the Queensland
Institute of Technology in 1984. He is
admitted to practice law in New York, in
England and Wales, and in Australia.
Mr. Hargraves has authored and presented papers on reinsurance including "When is a Defense not a Defence" (1992), Material Non-Disclosure, the New Law," "Resolving Reinsurance Disputes," and "Insurance and Reinsurance Coverage Issues: Current Developments in Disputes Among Insureds Cedants and Reinsurers."
Mr. Hargraves is a member of the AIDA Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration Society (ARIAS-U.S.), the International Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Law Society (U.K) and the Queensland Law Society (Australia).

James McConnell
James D. McConnell (jdmcconnell@hm-law.com)
graduated from the University of Notre Dame in
1982 and earned his law degree from Rutgers
Law School (Newark) in 1991. He has
co-authored papers presented at the National
Association Of Insurance Commissioners
Workshops, including Director and Officer
Liability in Insurer Insolvencies and
Controlling Shareholder Liability in Insurer
Insolvencies.
From 1982 to 1988, Mr. McConnell served as an Airborne and Ranger qualified Infantry officer in the United States Army. In 1988, he was honorably discharged from the Army at the rank of Captain and began law school.
He is a member of the AIDA Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration Society (ARIAS-U.S.), the International Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and the Irish American Bar Association of New York. Mr. McConnell also serves as the Secretary of the Notre Dame Alumni Club of New York City. His recent short article, “Maximizing Cedent Prospects For Prejudgment Security,” appears in the October 2002 issue of the New York Insurance Association News.
